90210: Rob Estes and Jennie Garth Leaving

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Sources close to the CW’s 90210 confirm that Rob Estes will not be a part of the show next season.

Though widespread reports have it that Rob has “quit” the CW remake, I’m hearing there’s more to the story, which also may explain Jennie Garth’s departure…

According to insiders close to the negotiations, Estes is leaving the series because he could not agree on compensation for the upcoming season with the CW. I’m told the show’s producers ultimately were willing to let Rob go because executive producer Rebecca Kirshner and her creative team would like to focus more on the younger castmembers (AnnaLynne McCord, we’re looking at you) and less on the older—particularly those who starred on the original 90210 and Melrose Place series (such as Jennie and Rob).

“They just don’t want the old people on the new show anymore,” one CW insider tells me of the show’s bosses, while another source adds that producers are simply “trying to establish a separate identity for the new show.”

The CW has no official comment on Estes’ exit yet, but is expected to release a statement later today.

As for what’s next for Jennie, whose 90210 departure was confirmed last week, Jennie herself tells me that she has “lots of irons in the fire,” including a children’s book, work with the American Heart Association and a new small-screen project with a certain Twilight star with whom she just so happens to be married. Jennie Garth ‘tweets’ about fate of ’90210′ mom

Monday, September 28th, 2009

The future doesn’t look so well for “90210″ mom, Jackie Taylor, according to rumors and a recent “tweet” by actress Jennie Garth.

Garth, who plays Jackie’s daughter, Kelly Taylor, on the CW teen drama, tweeted on Thursday, “Back at 90210. Things aren’t looking good for Jackie Taylor. Actually filming on original 90210 stages! Weird!“, according to her Twitter page.

There have been rumors circulating that Jackie (actress Ann Gillespie) will be diagnosed with breast cancer and will hope to reconcile with her daughters, Kelly and Erin “Silver” Silver (actress Jessica Stroup).

Gillespie frequently appeared on original teen series, “Beverly Hills, 90210,” in which Garth starred. Both actresses have returned to guest star on the spin-off series, “90210,” which focuses on a new group of teens, including Jackie’s daughter and Kelly’s half sister, Silver.

In season one of “90210,” Jackie returned to her old ways of substance abuse, making her unfit to care for a teen-aged Silver. Kelly, who has dealt with her mother’s ups and downs her whole life, brought her half-sister to live with her instead.

“90210” executive producer Rebecca Sinclair recently spoke in an interview with The Futon Critic’s Jim Halterman about Jackie’s return for season two.

“She’s back and for old fans there will be some big problems between Kelly and her mother that will be some good stuff,” Sinclair said in the interview.

Jackie will return for episode five of season two, “Environmental Hazards,” according to photos on the CW web site. Stay with the 90210 Examiner for the latest on the saga of Jackie, Kelly, and Silver.

“90210” airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. (ET) on the CW network. The spin-off of “Beverly Hills, 90210,” follows a new class at West Beverly Hills High School, including Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes), Dixon Wilson (Tristan Wilds), Naomi Clark (AnnaLynne McCord), and Silver. Jennie Garth: Kelly is a bad mother

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Anybody else wanna be BFFs with Jennie Garth? We caught up with the supersweet 90210 star at the CBS/CW/Showtime party, and she talked season two, love triangles and baby Sammy, with whom she’s shared only a few scenes since the beginning of the show, prompting the star to exclaim, “Kelly’s the worst mother ever!”

Garth also confessed that Kelly Taylor would definitely have more to do in season two with Harry and Debbie Wilson (Rob Estes and Lori Loughlin) and her little sis Silver (Jessica Stroup) and that she never expected to be working with Ann Gillespie, who plays Jackie Silver, 10 years after the original series ended. Returning back to 90210?

Monday, July 27th, 2009

Jennie Garth will return to 90210 for its second season, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

Garth will re-reprise the role of West Bev guidance counselor Kelly Taylor beginning with Episode 3. Now you might be thinking: Duh, of course she’s back. Why wouldn’t she be? Well, I’m told that one of new showrunner Rebecca Rand Kirshner Sinclair’s mandates from the network was to recalibrate the show away from the old (say, Tori Spelling guest spots) and toward the new.

But no matter. Garth is back and will appear in multiple Season 2 episodes, as it’s rumored to be Kelly who first connects the dots vis-à-vis Annie’s harrowing season-finale joyride.

The new season of the CW’s 90210 premieres Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 8/7 CT.

35th Annual People’s Choice Awards

Friday, January 9th, 2009

35th Annual People’s Choice Awards
When? January 7th, 2009

Jennie Garth attended the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on January 7, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.

Jennie was pictured arriving the event along other celebrities, including her 90210 co-star Lori Loughlin. She looked beautiful and wore a black dress, a black clutch and black open-toed heels.

She was also pictured backstage, and announcing along her 90210 co-star AnnaLynne McCord.

And here’s also some coverage from Ok! Magazine Online:

“I’m much older. I don’t know if you’ve noticed,” she told reporters at last night’s People’s Choice Awards. “So my priorities are a little different.”

“I’m so proud of the show,” she adds. “To be a part of the original show that received a People’s Choice Award, meaning that the fans really loved it and embraced it, it was a great honor then and now to be doing the new show and being nominated for a People’s Choice Award [for Best New TV Drama] it’s like “What, how lucky can we be?’ “

In another stroke of luck, to add to the show’s mix of new characters interacting with the stars from the past, Jason Priestley and Tori Spelling will both be involved with 90210 in upcoming episodes – Tori on the screen and Jason behind the camera as a director.

“We’re very excited,” Jennie gushes about the return of her former co-stars. “I could not be more excited. To have anyone from the original cast walk through the door I would be like, ‘Yes, thank God!’ because I just miss them and it’s not the same without them.”

I’ve added 103 photos and 11 high quality photos of Jennie attending the 2009 Awards.
I’ve also added 19 photos of Jennie announcing and backstage.

Jennie Speaks out!

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

She said there may be more surprises coming in ’90210′ that talk on the role of Dylan as the father of her four-year-old.

It was revealed on Tuesday, September 16 episode of “” that the father of Kelly’s four-year-old son Sammy is Dylan McKay and Kelly’s depicter, gave an interview to People, talking about what the future may hold for her character after the revelation. To the publication, Garth said that there may be “more surprises in store” awaiting in the coming episodes that have something to do with Dylan.

Asked about how the team came up with the choice of having Dylan as the father, Garth admitted that “it was very confusing” but thought that the reason was because “Kelly and Dylan had such a passionate relationship in the past. Their relationship was so heated. It was kind of undeniable.” She added that there was also a 50 per cent chance initially that Brandon Walsh () could be the father.

With Dylan’s name brought back to life, the burning question lies on whether its actor Luke Perry will sign to make a cameo. On this Garth shared, “I would love to work with Luke again. I love him dearly. And I also would love to work with Jason again. It’s a great question for the producers. I would be nothing but totally happy to have either of them there.”

Ryan Eggold on Kissing 90210 Costar Jennie Garth

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Ryan Eggold’s character on 90210 may seem too cool for school, but the actor is still learning how to keep his cool when it comes to kissing costar Jennie Garth.

“Isn’t that scary?” Eggold told reporters Sunday at the Emmys. “She’s married too, so I feel like I’m breaking another line.”

Eggold plays English teacher Ryan Matthews, a new love interest for Garth’s character Kelly Taylor on the show.

But Eggold isn’t about to cross any lines–not when Garth’s husband, actor Peter Facinelli, has made his feelings clear. “He hasn’t been on set, but he has been to functions, and when I met him he just squeezed my hand very tightly,” Eggold said. “Fair enough, Peter Facinelli, you are king. It’s cool.”

Behind the Scenes 90210!
When? August 8, 2008

It’s ET’s first look at the all new “90210″!

Familiar faces such as Jennie Garth, Rob Estes, Lori Loughlin and Jessica Walter are an important part of The CW’s highly anticipated “90210″ series, with the latter three playing the adult members of the Wilson family.

As ET previously announced, Jennie is reprising her role as Kelly Taylor, but now she gives us the update on her character: “We made it so she’s a guidance counselor, so I’m really a part of the school atmosphere. Kelly went through so much and there was so much drama in all of my storylines that, hopefully, I can use that to help [the students].”

Jennie Character has a Child?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

90210: Season 1 - Promotional Photos We are now hearing that the spin off writers may have found a way to advance those ancient, 90s love stories. Sources tell us West Bev’s guidance counselor, Ms. Kelly Taylor, has a four-year-old kid! No word on whether the baby daddy is Brandon or Dylan, but I’m betting it’s one of ‘em. Still, don’t expect to see the girl — who was once burned in a fire, brainwashed by a cult and big into blow — pining for her old flames. A romance between Kel and the school’s 20-something lacrosse coach, Ryan Matthews is brewing instead…
