To capture the spirit of family life, and celebrate the launch of JCPenney’s American Living line, Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli and their happy clan relive those moments — and remind us that oftentimes slightly imperfect is just right.

Redbook: Tell us about your own “perfect family moment” that erupted into chaos?
Jennie: When Luca was about 8 and Lola was 3, we were trying to take their picture for our Christmas card. I’d even picked out the perfect matching red dresses for them to wear. But the girls would not stop fighting! We ended up using a picture of the two of them fighting, and the card said, “‘Tis the Season to be Jolly.” It’s definitely one of our favorite family cards.
